1st round - R.I.P Michael Jackson 1958-2009
Among the well-known visual symbols of Michael Jackson,
I picked out hat, illusion, black suit, and the moon.
I discovered Magritte used those symbols in his work,
so I reconstructed two of his work in which i could bring out connection between those symbols and Michael Jackson.
2nd round - You are lonely because we are human
in these times, we can communicate seeing each other’s faces and can contact each other at any given time. we just need to make the effort. but even if we have all these media that allow us to get closer to each other, we are still lonely. we get irritated when our mobile phone doesn’t ring and
we cling to the click rate of our blogs and mini-hompys. the more devices we have, the more we are anxious to be alone. we become more sensitive to these connections, lean on them and for the same reasons we try to find comfort in and attention from them.
but the anxiety and the shackles of this irritation never leave us.
I wanted to tell a story about this kind of loneliness. we are closer than ever before, but i wonder if we are not the generation that
feels more lonely than ever before.
